LUCKNOW: A 21-year-old student from Lucknow, Aadarsh Mishra, currently working on a project for DRDO (Defence and Development Organisation) with experts from IITDelhi, has achieved a rare feat. He has co-authored a research paper with Dr Pascal Gehring, expert in quantum effects in electronic nanodevices, from Oxford University, on `Field-effect control of Graphene-Fullerene thermoelectric nanodevices’.The research has been published in Nano letters, a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the American Chemical Society.

A first class honours in engineering from Cardiff University, Aadarsh, at 19, was the youngest Indian to be elected fellow of Royal Astronomical Society, London (FRAS). In the research, Aadarsh and other scientists studied the smallest stable structures in nature: single molecules.

“A lot of hard work has gone into the paper and I am very happy to be part of a qu ality paper. When I was in Oxford between May to August 2015, I started working on the project and my role was to simulate and confirm the experimental data. It was then, we came to know our research had lot of potential,” Aadarsh told TOI on phone from Delhi. Another paper with an expert from Cardiff University is expected to be out soon, he added. The full story is available below.
